Data Protection

With appropriate consent, EuroClub Hampshire acts as a Data Controller in respect of the personal data of its members.
Member data is held only for the lifetime of the membership, plus one year, and will never be passed to a third party, except where required by Law.

Members are asked for separate consents (“opt-in”) to use their personal information for the following purposes:
a. email lists for distributing, and recording the distribution of, publications, articles, event and meeting information;
b. the production, from time to time, of a Membership Directory, being an abridged list of contact details, published to members of EuroClub Hampshire

Members may withdraw their consent for these purposes (“opt-out”) at any time by writing to the EuroClub Administrator via email.

Scheduled Club Activities

Any person choosing to participate in any scheduled EuroClub activity, does so at their own risk. Activities organised independently by and between members, based on shared interests, occur as private events and fall outside the scope and control of EuroClub Hampshire.

EuroClub Hampshire, its walk and cycle leaders, administrators and officers do not accept any liability for any loss or damage to property and / or death or bodily injury or illness sustained in the course of its organized activities.

Any member, guest or visitor who may be suffering from ill health, or is in any way concerned about their health should consult their own GP before participating in any scheduled activities.

Safe Walking

All walkers should wear adequate clothing for all walks including, but not limited to:
• Sensible Layered Clothing
• Waterproofed Clothing
• Hat and Gloves
Authentic walking boots and shoes are essential as chosen routes may include stony, loose or wet terrain and steep gradients.

Children below 16 years participating in organised walks must be accompanied by an adult.

No one is permitted to advance out in front of the walking group in an attempt to increase the pace of the walk, which may be beyond the ability of participants behind. Anyone doing so is deemed to have left the walk and therefore no longer under the direction of the walk leader.

Cyclists

Participants must make themselves aware of the Highway Code and the rules, regulations and laws of the road that apply.

Ensure your bike is road-worthy and you are confident riding on the open roads and equipped to make safe road-side repairs.

Do not use music players, your mobile phone or do anything that distracts your attention and awareness away from other riders in the group or other road users.

Animals are easily startled and awareness of this must be shown when approaching them. Horses, especially in and around the New Forest, require you to you slow down and give them plenty of room when passing.

EuroClub Hampshire strongly recommends the use of helmets.
